Changes as they go live, across every part of Prodigies. If you asked for something and itโs here โ thank you, it started with feedback.

The Compose Tool learns two new instruments ๐น๐ต
๐ต Recorder mode. Pick Recorder under Instrument and the whole tool becomes a recorder tool. The range clamps to middle C up to high D, so a kid cannot write a note their recorder cannot play, and the fingering cards sit under every note where the hand signs usually go. It plays back on a recorder sound instead of bells.
๐น Grand staff. Also under Instrument: a bass clef under the treble one, for beginner piano pieces. Drag a bell onto the lower staff for the left hand. It plays back as a piano, and it prints and performs like everything else.
๐ผ Chords actually play. Anywhere you put a chord, a quiet piano now plays underneath the bells with a nice long sustain.
โ๏ธ Select, copy, paste. Drag a box around a few beats and you can copy them, repeat them, move them, or clear them. It works on either hand of a grand staff, and it works on an iPad.
โฉ๏ธ Start Over asks first. Clearing all your notes used to happen the instant you tapped it, with nothing to undo. Now it warns you, and you get your song back if you tapped it by mistake.
๐ The song library looks like a music notebook now. Ruled paper cards, four to a row.
To be upfront: for about a day, piano pieces published to the library showed only the right hand. The editor had them right the whole time and nothing was ever lost, but the library page was drawing the treble staff and quietly skipping the bass. That one was ours. It is fixed, and any grand staff song you already published looks right now with nothing for you to redo.
Real recorder samples are next, to replace the synthesized one. Keep telling us what feels off, it genuinely shapes what we build.

Every game, tuned up ๐ฎ๐
We spent the weekend going through all 28 games one at a time, plus we built two new ones.
๐ Bell Snake (new): collect bells, grow longer, and the notes you pick up become your snake. Crash and it plays your melody back to you. Five speeds, from turtle to rabbit.
๐ Bass Attack (new): bass clef reading, underwater, where the notes are fish. Same game your kids already know from Treble Trouble, one octave down.
๐บ Treble Invaders is now Treble Trouble. Same game, better name.
๐ช One way out, everywhere. Every game now has the same Menu button in the same corner. Two of them had no way back at all, so a kid could get stuck until a grown up rescued them. Fixed.
๐ Sound is always on now. We took out the little mute switch entirely.
โ Right and wrong answers have their sounds back, with eight different happy sounds so a long practice session does not get repetitive.
๐ฑ A big iPad pass. Bigger buttons for little fingers, no more accidental zooming in the middle of a game, and dragging in Make a Sweet Beat actually works on a touch screen now.
๐จ One look. Same fonts and the same note colors as the deskbells in your hand, across all 28 games. Bell Composer was showing High C as pink when your bell is red. It is red now.
To be upfront: that mute switch was our mistake, and it caused exactly the problem you would expect. It sat in the corner of the screen, it was easy to bump without noticing, and then the game just seemed broken. If a game has ever gone silent on you for no reason, that was almost certainly it. It is gone now, and if you had accidentally muted something it turns itself back on the next time you open it.
More games coming. Keep telling us what feels off, it genuinely shapes what we fix next.

Round two, same night ๐๐
A few of these came straight from Ms. Andrea playing the games and telling us what felt off. Keep it coming, it works.
๐ค Sing the Interval now judges the NOTE, not the octave. Bells are high and voices are not, so singing the right note somewhere comfortable could come back marked wrong. Not anymore. Level 1 is now "Sing the Note": match the bell in whatever octave suits you. The octave jump has left the singing levels entirely (if any octave counts, "sing the octave" is just singing the same note back at us), and the bell, the staff and the note we are listening for can no longer disagree with each other.
๐ต What Note Is It? grows with you. Chromatic mode used to hand you all 25 bells at once. Now Easy is one octave, the 8 notes you know plus the 5 black bells. Medium widens. Hard opens the whole instrument, low G to high G. The keyboard always matches the question, so you will never be asked for a bell you cannot see.
๐ Bell Sort has an Expert level. No colours, no letters, no clues anywhere. Tap a bell to hear it and sort the whole rainbow by ear. Land one correctly and its colour comes back, so a finished tray earns the rainbow the easy levels give you for free.
๐ฆ Flappy Bell: signed in members can now pick any flight in any order, and the stars actually mean something. Three stars is every harmony bell caught, two is most of them.
๐ช Bell Sort pays Prodigies Coins now, once per difficulty.
๐ Mute is per game. One mute button used to silence six games at once, so if you ever hit it by accident you found a pile of games that seemed broken. That was us.
๐จ The A# bell got its picture back in Sing the Interval.
To be upfront, flights 3 through 7 in Flappy Bell now ask you to sign in. The first two stay free, and a Prodigies membership or PK-5 opens the rest.

Game night ๐ฎ๐
Our free games have a real home now at games.prodigies.com, and this week it got a WHOLE lot bigger.
๐ธ Treble Invaders (new): note reading that finally feels like an actual arcade game. Invaders drift down the treble staff, your bells blast them out of the sky, and your blaster overheats if you just mash buttons (sorry, kiddos). Seven waves, or fly forever.
๐ต What Song Is It? (new): four measures of a melody from My First Songbook, no lyrics, four choices, go. Rapid fire ear training built around songs your kids already sing.
๐ค Sing the Interval (new): sing into the mic and watch the pitch meter catch you. Think of it as Pitch Trainer, level two.
๐ฅ Metronome (new): tap tempo, 2/4, 3/4, 4/4 and 6/8, plus a Beet who leans side to side on every beat.
๐ช Prodigies Coins: earn them in any game, then spend them in Prodigies World. Playing the same level again pays zero, so there is no farming your way to a mansion.
๐๏ธ The games page is actually sorted now: Ear Training, Vocal Training, Compose, Arcade Games, Instruments & Tools. Every card shows real gameplay instead of a menu screen.
๐ One family menu across every Prodigies site, with a proper full screen version on phones. And the colors walk the bell order everywhere you look (red, orange, yellow, green, teal, purple, pink).
Also new this week: Major or Minor, What Interval Is It?, Bell Train and Beet Jumper.
To be upfront, two bugs shipped alongside the coins and both are fixed as of tonight. The coin chip linked to a dead page when you tapped it from inside a game. Worse, it was sitting directly on top of the mute button in six games, so if you ever hit that button by accident, those games went quiet and there was no visible switch to turn the sound back on. If that happened to you, that was us, not you. Sound is yours again ๐

Another big one ๐
๐ Bells in every mode โ the "Bells" notehead only worked in 1/4 before. It now works in 1/8 and 6/8 too, beams and all, and covers every bell from low G to high G. Notes outside CโHigh C used to quietly turn back into plain noteheads. Not anymore.
๐ต 8th notes look like 8th notes โ put a note on the "and" of a beat and you get a proper flagged 8th with an 8th rest in front of it, instead of something that looked like a quarter. Slide it back to the downbeat and it's a quarter again.
๐ค Lyrics got real attention โ syllables no longer collide ("Grandand" is now "Grand and"), hyphens sit centered between syllables instead of jammed against the next word, and the Lyrics list on each song page now reads as actual words with sensible line breaks. We cleaned up all 30 songs that had lyrics, so go look at yours.
๐ธ Perform Mode โ the staff and treble clef now hold still while the measures scroll past and dissolve behind the clef, just like our videos. Plus a 1-2-3-4 / ReadyโGo count-in with metronome, four backgrounds (Field, Lake, Wood, Cityโฆ or Mix), and a settings gear inside the player.
๐ผ Version picker โ every song page now lists all versions of that song at the TOP, with rating, length, tempo, and whether each has lyrics or chords. Pick before you read.
โจ Half & whole notes โ hold bars are filled in more so they read better, and dots are always dark now so they stop vanishing on yellow.
To be upfront: writing in 4/4, playing back and sharing a link are free forever, no account needed. The extra time signatures, Perform Mode and saving are now included with Lifetime and PK-5 rather than free. Details at /plans โ already a member but seeing Free? Make sure your account uses your purchase email.
Keep the reports coming. Most of the above started as something one of you flagged right here.
ComposeAugust 4, 2026
A TON landed this weekend:
๐ธ Perform Mode โ your compositions now scroll right-to-left like a real Prodigies Performance Track. Hit "Play Performance Track" on any song. Total game changer.
๐ผ Chords in every key โ pick a key signature or just type the chord (Em, F#7โฆ). Thanks Seun!
๐ New time signatures โ 3/4 and 6/8 join 4/4 (Fรผr Elise, here we come).
๐ Rebuilt sound engine โ no more blips, clicks, or stuttery starts.
๐ต Song versions โ everyone's Twinkle Twinkles now group together like Ultimate Guitar: one listing, best version first, all takes one tap away. Add your own version of anything!
๐ Public / Unlisted / Private โ you choose who sees each song.
โจ Polish everywhere โ cleaner beams on big jumps, fixed overlapping 2nds, correct hand-sign fonts, new bell art, full-screen playback on song pages.

iPad + Safari fixes are live ๐ Two bugs from your reports are squashed: sound now plays even with the mute switch on (and comes back after a call or app switch), and Print โ PDF actually shows the score instead of a blank page. Dragging bells no longer scrolls the page out from under you, the clef is no longer cut off in portrait, and taps/handles are bigger for fingers. NEW: Settings โ Note Style lets you switch to Black & White notes for older or more advanced students. Please keep the iPad feedback coming โ more touch improvements on the way!
