Your songs, your favorites, and a library you can sort 🎵 🎵 Your songs, right on the home page. Sign in and the top row is your own work: what you have published, plus the drafts you are still writing. A badge shows up when you have kept working on a song since you published it. ♥ Favorites you can actually find. Tap the heart on any song, anywhere. On a card, on a list row, or on the song page. They collect under Your Favorites on the home page, and there is a My Favorites page in your account menu now. 📚 Add to collection. Setlists, lesson plans, a recital programme. Drop a song into one straight from its page, and make a new collection right there without leaving. 🔤 Sort the library however you want. Title, composer, level, rating, favorites, plays or newest. In list view just tap a column heading, and tap it again to flip it around. 📋 List view. Browse opens as a list now, which is a lot easier to scan when you are hunting for a Level 2 in 3/4. Cards are one tap away, and the home page has a list mode too. Whichever you pick, it stays picked. 🌱 Beginner songs. A new shelf of the gentlest pieces in the library. Hot Cross Buns, Ring Around The Rosie, Go Tell Aunt Rhody, The Farmer in the Dell. 💾 Autosave. Leave the page in the middle of a song and your work is waiting when you come back. 🔔 The first note plays. On a freshly opened page the very first bell sometimes stayed silent. It does not any more. And a little more room on the page: when a song sits in a higher range, the hand signs and lyrics move up closer to the notes instead of holding space for low notes that are not there. #HappyMusicing - Mr. Rob

Tied notes, and a page that follows along 🎼🎵 🎼 Tied notes. Tap the new tie button in the toolbar, then tap a note to tie it to the next one of the same pitch. Or select a note and press T. The two notes become one sound: play the first, let it ring, do not play it again. Tap the curve to take it off. It works across a barline, across a line break, on chords, and on both hands of a grand staff. 📜 The page follows the music. Hit play in the editor and the page scrolls to the line being played, once per line, and only when that line is off screen. If the music is somewhere you can already see, nothing moves. There is a Follow switch under Settings, Playback, if you would rather it stayed put. 🏠 A new home page. It opens on the songs now instead of a wall of text. Three rows you scroll sideways: New This Week, Top Rated, Most Played. Six songs across on a laptop where there used to be four, and the first row is on screen the moment you land. 🥁 A metronome in Perform. It clicks every beat of the music, straight through the performance, not just the count in. Beside it, Repeat: tap to cycle one, two, three or four passes, with a four bar count between them. 📱 The menu on a phone. Browse, log in, search, sign up, feedback and compose used to stack into three ragged rows on a small screen. They live behind one button now. ✨ Also landed since the last update: sixteenth notes, swing playback, dynamics and hairpins, and song pages that show the real editor instead of a flat picture. To be upfront: a bug this morning blocked saving and publishing a grand staff song if you had shortened it with the measures slider. Our first fix was too cautious and left some of you stuck for another couple of hours, which cost at least one song. Both rounds are fixed now, and an older share link will publish again. If you have one that would not go through, open it in the Compose Tool, copy a fresh share link, and paste that on the publish page. #HappyMusicing - Mr. Rob

The Compose Tool learns two new instruments 🎹🎵 🎵 Recorder mode. Pick Recorder under Instrument and the whole tool becomes a recorder tool. The range clamps to middle C up to high D, so a kid cannot write a note their recorder cannot play, and the fingering cards sit under every note where the hand signs usually go. It plays back on a recorder sound instead of bells. 🎹 Grand staff. Also under Instrument: a bass clef under the treble one, for beginner piano pieces. Drag a bell onto the lower staff for the left hand. It plays back as a piano, and it prints and performs like everything else. 🎼 Chords actually play. Anywhere you put a chord, a quiet piano now plays underneath the bells with a nice long sustain. ✏️ Select, copy, paste. Drag a box around a few beats and you can copy them, repeat them, move them, or clear them. It works on either hand of a grand staff, and it works on an iPad. ↩️ Start Over asks first. Clearing all your notes used to happen the instant you tapped it, with nothing to undo. Now it warns you, and you get your song back if you tapped it by mistake. 📓 The song library looks like a music notebook now. Ruled paper cards, four to a row. To be upfront: for about a day, piano pieces published to the library showed only the right hand. The editor had them right the whole time and nothing was ever lost, but the library page was drawing the treble staff and quietly skipping the bass. That one was ours. It is fixed, and any grand staff song you already published looks right now with nothing for you to redo. Real recorder samples are next, to replace the synthesized one. Another big one 🎉 🔔 Bells in every mode — the "Bells" notehead only worked in 1/4 before. It now works in 1/8 and 6/8 too, beams and all, and covers every bell from low G to high G. Notes outside C–High C used to quietly turn back into plain noteheads. Not anymore. 🎵 8th notes look like 8th notes — put a note on the "and" of a beat and you get a proper flagged 8th with an 8th rest in front of it, instead of something that looked like a quarter. Slide it back to the downbeat and it's a quarter again. 🎤 Lyrics got real attention — syllables no longer collide ("Grandand" is now "Grand and"), hyphens sit centered between syllables instead of jammed against the next word, and the Lyrics list on each song page now reads as actual words with sensible line breaks. We cleaned up all 30 songs that had lyrics, so go look at yours. 🎸 Perform Mode — the staff and treble clef now hold still while the measures scroll past and dissolve behind the clef, just like our videos. Plus a 1-2-3-4 / Ready–Go count-in with metronome, four backgrounds (Field, Lake, Wood, City… or Mix), and a settings gear inside the player. 🎼 Version picker — every song page now lists all versions of that song at the TOP, with rating, length, tempo, and whether each has lyrics or chords. Pick before you read. ✨ Half & whole notes — hold bars are filled in more so they read better, and dots are always dark now so they stop vanishing on yellow. To be upfront: writing in 4/4, playing back and sharing a link are free forever, no account needed. Total game changer. 🎼 Chords in every key — pick a key signature or just type the chord (Em, F#7…). Thanks Seun! 🕒 New time signatures — 3/4 and 6/8 join 4/4 (Für Elise, here we come). 🔊 Rebuilt sound engine — no more blips, clicks, or stuttery starts. 🎵 Song versions — everyone's Twinkle Twinkles now group together like Ultimate Guitar: one listing, best version first, all takes one tap away. Add your own version of anything! 🔒 Public / Unlisted / Private — you choose who sees each song. ✨ Polish everywhere — cleaner beams on big jumps, fixed overlapping 2nds, correct hand-sign fonts, new bell art, full-screen playback on song pages.

iPad + Safari fixes are live 🎉 Two bugs from your reports are squashed: sound now plays even with the mute switch on (and comes back after a call or app switch), and Print → PDF actually shows the score instead of a blank page. Dragging bells no longer scrolls the page out from under you, the clef is no longer cut off in portrait, and taps/handles are bigger for fingers. NEW: Settings → Note Style lets you switch to Black & White notes for older or more advanced students. Please keep the iPad feedback coming — more touch improvements on the way!
